Loma Alta is known for deep dance grooves and extended improvised jams that spring from original songs and tasty covers. Our sound is built around a rhythm section with an outrageously deep pocket, melodic interplay between guitar and saxophone, smooth segues between songs, and sweet vocal harmonies.
Steeped in the jamming traditions of the Grateful Dead and Phish, Loma Alta has built a reputation for adventurous group improvisations that build funk grooves up to huge energetic peaks. Our sound pays homage to our many musical influences, blending elements of Santana, The Talking Heads, Funkadelic, and classic Jam Bands to create a unique and original sound built for festivals and late night parties.
Recent Highlights:
- Playing 2 parties at Shakedown Tuscany for Phish @ the Sphere residency in April 2026
- Performing sets of all original music.
- Performed Santana's Abraxas album in its entirety for our phish-style "musical costume" show on Day Of The Dead 11/1/25.
- Debut EP recorded at Hyde Street Studios. Single release dates starting in January 2026.
